Millions of Peaches
I know, I know, I have been a shocking blogger this past month. I have been enjoying the holiday season and spending quality time with my kiddies.
We have had an abundance of fruit this season (especially peaches) and we have been busy stewing, freezing, juicing, eating and making sorbet. Oh so Yummy!
I have also stumbled across fatmumslims blog and have enjoyed following the January photo challenge and thought I’d join in for the month of February. I will post my daily photo’s here.
All you have to do is take a photo everyday using the inspiration list below.
So here goes:

Handprint Christmas Trees
We are celebrating Christmas at my sisters house this year and since she doesn’t have a Christmas tree the kids and I decided to make her one. ![]()
I’ve been making handprint Christmas trees and reindeers this week with the family daycare children, so Jas, Billy and I decided to do some handprints of our own.
1 hour and 112 handprints later we had enough for a big tree.
The tree is about 1 metre in height, which doesn’t seem too big except when you compare it to the ones I do with the children. A4 size, perfect to send off to Grandparents!
These really are effective and I know there are many tutorials out there.
So here’s what I do-
Paint your child’s hand with green paint and stamp at least 12 handprints onto white paper. (I do six of each hand so the thumbs point out on both sides of the tree).
Leave to dry and then cut around each handprint.
Stick then all together with a glue stick in the shape of a tree, add a trunk and a star on top and that’s it.
Simple, fun and most of all MESSY! Look at that concentration.
Tomato Salad
This is a recipe for a tomato salad that my family will be enjoying with our Aussie BBQ on Christmas day.
My sister in-law made this for us a couple of years ago and since then I have been passing it along to many others that enjoy it. There are only four ingredients so its super easy to make.![]()
Ingredients:
3 punnets of cherry tomatoes
1 bunch of basil
1 block of fetta
8 slices of prosciutto
Directions:
Cut up the prosciutto and lightly fry with Olive oil. Allow to cool. (I don’t drain the oil off as this adds to the flavour of the salad).
Wash tomatoes and cut in half; pop in a salad bowl. Wash basil and tear apart leaves into pieces. Crumble in the fetta.
Add the cooled prosciutto and mix it all together. Now go and EAT IT! YUMMO
This really needs to be made on the day as the tomato sweats if left for too long and although it tastes just as good for leftovers the next day it wont look as good!
